Group Discussion Round
The Vedanta GD round for CAs is a fun round. Here are a few points to keep in mind before you go for your GD round:
- Please don't overdo it.
- Speak your mind.
- Don't speak unnecessarily. Speak for the sake of speaking.
- If you have good points, put them out.
- Make yourself count, make yourself visible.
- If you don't know the topic, wait for others to speak, combine their points and make something of your own.
- Prepare more from the current issues; they cover most of the current affairs in their GD topics.
- Show your visibility.
- Leadership quality matters.
Personal Interview Process
Here, everything is from your resume. They won't ask you anything that is not on your resume. Be thorough with your resume. They are concerned about your articleship, don't lie, don't try to polish, be true to yourself, and stay confident enough. They will start with an "Introduce yourself" question, which is when you can put yourself up there without any pressure. Make that one-minute count, make an impact, make an impression on them, and after that, you can give them a mindset of choosing you.
To prepare for this, you might as well give a few mock interviews, get mentorships or maybe read a lot about it, in order to expand your knowledge.
Scores have already helped you to showcase your academics, all they are looking for in GDPI is personality, nothing else. Other than this, be thorough with the IND AS, and if you have exposure to import and export in your articleship, it'll be a plus point. They also might ask simple, basic, cut-to-cut accounting questions. This will overall decide the selection process for the chartered accountant candidate.
